Daya Vieja is a small traditional rural spanish village about 1km from San Fulgencio, and just under 8km inland from the beaches at Guardamar del Segura. The main industry of the area is agriculture.

The central square in the village of Daya Vieja contains the church, the town hall and a futuristic viewing platform which spirals around a cluster of palm trees. It also has a cultural centre in the old water tower, a selection of bars and restaurants and an outdoor swimming pool which everyone can pay to use during the summer.

A larger selection of shops, bars, restaurants and other amenities can be found in the nearby towns of San Fulgencio or Rojales.

Guardamar del Segura (commonly referred to as just Guardamar) is a large town located at the mouth of the River Segura, between Santa Pola and Torrevieja on the Costa Blanca. It is renowned for its many kilometres of fine sandy white beaches, with their accompanying dunes and surrounding forests. These all combine to make Guardamar a real paradise on the Costa blanca.

It has a long high street full of all kinds of shops as well as a busy market every Wednesday morning.

Guardamar has many restaurants and bars catering to a wide variety of tastes/cuisines. Many of the local restaurants offer top-quality seafood and shellfish and outstanding rice dishes, the pride of Guardamar cuisine.
